I was born in Ballston Spa, living my younger years in the rural town of Corinth in upstate NY. I was the youngest of 6 siblings, with eight years between myself and my next oldest brother. It often felt like I was growing up alone due to the age difference. I experienced the loss of my aunt and grandmother at 5 years old. I also lost 2 pets, at a very young age. My dad also died when I was still in school. Probably due to age differences and loss, I found myself searching for a feeling of connectedness.
When I was 5 years old, I attended my first philosophy class with my parents. After more than 50 classes and reviews, I developed a Spiritual understanding and mental foundation with the goal of “Know Thyself.” This along with church attendance was my introduction to Spirituality.
I saw an ad at the local YMCA in 2001 that spoke of unconditional inner peace and I was drawn to it. A Course in Miracles (ACIM) has provided a sturdy spiritual foundation where we can reliably experience connectedness and inner peace. I have studied under local teachers like Ray Newman and Ray Angelini since. ACIM gives me spiritual principles that can be universally applied to ALL of us. I still use A Course in Miracles as my Spiritual guide to this day as the foundation that I rely on.
